This is a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Horticulture. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a nationally-recognized program of extension/outreach, research, and teaching in the area of fruit crop production. This position will focus on fruit production, including cranberries, grapes, tree fruit (e.g., apple/cherry), strawberries, and other crops. The successful candidate will address issues that limit production, enhance sustainability, and facilitate value-added opportunities for producers.Examples of research areas could include sustainable fruit production, mineral nutrition, photosynthesis and carbon partitioning, cold-hardiness, adaptation of fruit crops to northern climates, development of value-added products from fruit crops, plan growth regulation, and abiotic stress physiology.
