Desert Mountain Agronomy Internship
The Desert Mountain Club is one of the world’s finest private golf communities. Located in the foothills of Scottsdale, Arizona, it is the home of six Jack Nicklaus signature golf courses. Desert Mountain Club has had the privilege of hosting 13 Tradition Senior Tournaments, The Arizona Open, Arizona State Amateur, Gateway Tour Championship Tournament, and many more. For 2012, Desert Mountain Club has been chosen to host the Seniors 2012 Schwab Cup.
The Executive Management Agronomy Team, headed by Shawn Emerson, Director of Agronomy, and two senior agronomists have more than 60 years of golf course management experience, with an additional 6 Golf course superintendents adding additional 70 years of experience.
The Desert Mountain Club Intern Program is designed to train the leaders of tomorrow in golf course management. Interns will receive hands on experience, with an emphasis on developing their knowledge in turf science and personal development.
Field trips and seminars will be provided at no charge during the internship, with transportation provided. Your hourly rate will be $10.50 per hour with an additional $.50 cents per hour to help with food cost.
Furnished housing is available at a cost of $80.00 per week, with 2 people per room. If transportation is needed, transportation will be provided to and from work at a cost of $20.00 per week.
