Student Internship Overview
The Denver Country Club has consistently been one the finest country clubs west of the Mississippi for over a 100 years. It is steeped with history and tradition and is regarded as a cornerstone of Denver’s history. The course is located in the heart of Denver, making it one of the few inner urban golf courses. Our membership has set very high standards and we are committed to creating a club atmosphere where absolute satisfaction is our highest priority. Accordingly, we have built a team of exceptional leaders who are both professional and innovative.
Denver Country Club interns will be given the opportunity to train with veteran staff members who have succeeded at the highest level. We actively seek student interns worthy of the challenges inherent to a golf organization of this caliber. Our interns must possess a strong work ethic, solid morals and an enthusiastic attitude.
A significant portion of this internship program will include accurate pesticide calibration and application, proper watering techniques, and golf course setup. You will be formally trained in the daily operation of golf course maintenance. Your exposure to new tasks will depend on your ability to accomplish assigned duties to our expectations.
The internship will focus on plant health care techniques and sound agronomic practices. Interns will be asked to solve problems and develop solutions for long term success. Planning, scheduling, and accomplishing goals are skills learned and developed in this program.
Our turfgrass program is designed to teach you the fundamentals required to be successful in the golf course industry. You will leave the Denver Country Club more qualified to excel if you have enthusiasm, remain open minded, and are willing to work the hours for success at this level.
This internship will consume your summer and it will not be easy. However, you will gain the knowledge and experience required to reach your potential as a greenskeeper. Most of all, you
will witness first-hand the work and dedication required to maintain a classic property. We encourage only serious, hard working, dedicated students to apply.
