Comments:  The Plateau Club’s Internship program was featured in Golfdom 2008 April issue. This unique internship will allow students to experience an internship like no other. The Plateau Club is an 18-hole private facility just outside of Seattle. The course is carved out of a classic northwest setting with a fitness center, tennis courts, competition size pool and a 37,500 sq.ft clubhouse. During the internship students will be exposed to two different dynamics; a private 18-hole golf club and public 18-hole golf club. I have set up this internship program to allow students to spend time at another Superintendents property to see how a high-end 18-hole public golf club operates also. Students at The Plateau Club will learn how to manage a private club at a championship level with poa/bent greens. Students will also experience a monthly classroom setting to review the golf clubs management programs. Students will meet with a month guest speaker to cover soil test, spend time with the GM on budget & meet with a pump station contractor, to understand the fundamentals of a pump station.
