Organic Growers Club

The OSU Organic Growers Club is an all-volunteer, student run club which started in 2000. Club members (students, staff and community members) participate in farm tours, weekly work parties (with a hot meal every Thursday night), variety trials, movie nights, seed exchanges, presentations, conferences, monthly member meetings, fundraising drives for local food shelters and gardening projects, numerous on-campus festivals and fairs, the infamous HOO HAA Earth Day celebration, and much, much more. The heart of the project is centered around the student farm located in Corvallis, OR just east of the Willamette River on a nice river bottom silt loam. On this ~2 acre parcel, the club grows dozens of varieties of vegetables and fruit crops. The farm is where student members do most of the learning as they are involved in all aspects of market gardening. The club sponsors summer internships and is managed by a core group of students (The Council) which allows knowledge learned to be passed on through informal mentoring. Come out to the farm sometime and check it out! Free food on Thursday nights!!!
