Job Description: Looking for two interns from approximately April to September. It is our goal to provide Golf Course Maintenance interns with a valuable experience and prepare them to advance in their chosen field.  Interns will participate in all facets of our golf course maintenance program.  This includes, but is not limited to, topdressing, fertilizer applications, and irrigation practices.  Interns will have the opportunity to work on both courses at our facility and receive an introduction into the management plan, annual budget, employee scheduling, and equipment maintenance.  Management of crews and small construction projects may also be presented as appropriate to the intern during time of employment.  Meetings with managers will be held once a week during the middle of our intern’s employment with a different topic discussed each week by one or more of the full time managers.  Interns are expected to participate and ask questions during these weekly meetings.  The training and guidance received will improve the intern’s experience and make them a better candidate for future employment. Interns may also have the opportunity to work with Pronghorn’s landscaping crew if they choose to make landscape management an area of focus.  Pronghorn Landscape is a licensed landscape architect and landscape contractor in the State of Oregon with over $750,000 in annual revenue.  We have several event spaces and extensive landscaping around our clubhouse, restaurants and lodging as well as contracting maintenance and design/build services to our members.

Salary: Hourly $11-12/hour based on experience

Other Information: Pronghorn has two championship golf courses designed by world renowned architects, Tom Fazio and Jack Nicklaus.  The Central Oregon area is a thriving golf and recreation destination.  Within a short distance there is fly-fishing, mountain biking, snow skiing and several recreational lakes.  The Nicklaus course was opened in 2004 and ranked the #2 new private course in America by Golf Digest.  In 2007 the Fazio course was ranked #4 new private course. Also, we are home to a beautiful 50,000 sq ft. clubhouse and Pronghorn Golf Academy.  Both courses operate out of a state of the art maintenance facility.  Our goal is to manage the courses in a manner that shows commitment to high quality, customer service and environmental leadership.
