Santosh Kalauni, originally from Nepal, is currently in his third year of a MS program at Oregon State University, where he began his studies in 2021. He completed his undergraduate degree at Tribhuvan University in 2015 and earned a master's degree in Horticulture from Agricultural and Forestry University in Nepal in 2018.
Santosh's master research, project titled the "High-Resolution Vineyard Nutrition Project," involves field trials and greenhouse studies aimed at optimizing vineyard nutrition for wine grapes. He has received scholarships such as the Graduate Research Assistantship at Oregon State University, the Oregon Wine Research Institute (OWRI) Travel Grant in 2023 and 2024, and the American Society for Enology and Viticulture (ASEV) Scholarship in 2023r. Notably, he presented his research at the ASEV National Conference in 2023 and 2024.
His research interests lie in grapevine physiology, mineral nutrition, and their impact on vine growth, productivity, and fruit quality. Santosh is part of the Patty Skinkis Lab in the Department of Horticulture at Oregon State University and is an active member of ASEV.
