I assist several researchers at the North Willamette Research and Extension Center, located in Aurora, Oregon, with their research and extension programs.
I assist Joe DeFrancesco in the IR4 Ornamental Program conducting efficacy and crop safety trials on ornamental crops that are important to Oregon growers. The main focus of the IR-4 Ornamentals Program at NWREC has been generating crop safety information and adding new crops to pesticide labels. This involves the planning, set-up and execution of the trials.
In addition to ornamental nursery crops work, I also assist Christmas tree specialist Chal Landgren in his program at NWREC. Many projects include traveling to locations throughout western Oregon and southwest Washington doing various field work, research trials and tree evaluations.
