Dr. Wang's current research directions include turfgrass disease suppression using Epichloë endophytes, as well as exploring the carbon sequestration potential of managed turfgrass systems.
Prior to hire at OSU Dr. Ruying "Wrennie" Wang completed an undergraduate degree in Crop and Soil Science at Michigan State University, and a M.S. and Ph.D in Plant Biology at the State University of Rutgers. During her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University Ruying worked under the direction of Dr. Joseph Vargas. While at Rutgers Wrennie worked with Dr. Murphy and Dr. Clarke on annual bluegrass disease management, and endophyte/turfgrass interactions.
